WHEN IS THE ROCKPORT FILM FESTIVAL?
The Rockport Film Festival is always the second weekend in November, when Texas days are still warm but Texas nights are cool. It all kicks off with a Red Carpet Event the Thursday before the festival, and films screen all day Friday and Saturday.
In 2023, the festival will be November 9-12.
Where do film screenings take place?
All screenings and the Red Carpet Party will take place at the Rockport Conference Center (ROCC) at 106 S. Austin Street. Happy Hour Social Events’ locations will be announced.
What kind of films screen at the Rockport Film Festival?
We have six categories of films:

2. Fiction Feature
3. Documentary Short
4. Fiction Short
5. Animated Short
6. Student Film
Five of the films will be full-length features. There will be four short film blocks, around 90 minutes long and consisting of six to eight short films.

Why does Rockport need a film festival?
Our goals are to enrich an audience already supportive of the arts by providing a window onto the world of independent cinema, and to encourage cultural tourism and economic impact by providing new and innovative event programming for our area. Being a community known for its mix of art and environment, we hope the Rockport Film Festival will reach audiences local, regional and statewide during what is typically an off-season for tourism in our community. These experiences—exposure to one-of-a-kind film programming, interaction and dialogue with filmmakers, and connecting the unique position of Rockport to the diverse world of filmmaking—have created a hidden gem that is poised to expand significantly with continued support.
What is independent film?
Independent films are typically made outside of the Hollywood studio system, which means they are privately financed projects that tend to be on a smaller budget scale.
How do I attend the festival? Where do I purchase tickets?
Single entry tickets are $10. You will be able to purchase them online or in person starting October 6. VIP passes, which guarantees you own personal seat at the theater for the entirety of the festival are $125 and can be purchased online starting in September 3.
How do I receive my tickets I have bought online?
This year, we will have no physical Red Carpet Party or single screening tickets. We will have a guest list at the theater, so be sure to give us the names of your guests. VIP passes can be picked up at three locations:
October 31 - November 9, Tuesday - Saturday, 10 AM - 4 PM at Rockport Center for the Arts, 204 South Austin Street, Rockport, TX
November 9, 6-7:30PM at the ROCC (106 S. Austin Street)
November 10-12, 10:30 AM - 10 PM at the ROCC (106 S. Austin Street)
